Service Description

Grades: 1st and up! Is there such a thing as too many stuffed animals?? Never! Enjoy LHC’s fluffiest and stuffiest projects in this themed class for machine sewing students. No experience necessary for any child to learn the basics and beyond. New students will learn machine safety, beginner sewing techniques, and complete two prerequisite projects, while the more experienced students can expand on skills they already have. Machine sewing is an exciting, hands-on experience. Each student will be learning how to safely use our heavy-duty sewing machines. This requires focus, fine motor coordination, patience, and care. Instructors support students as they problem-solve, practice safe habits, and build confidence, resilience, and independence through their work. This class is student-led, and students advance at their own pace. After the beginner sewing students learn to use our machines, they will need to complete two pre-requisite projects before being given full autonomy over the projects they choose. Projects will rotate each session, and include sea creatures, stuffed snack foods, funky pillows, and so much more! *Please note that the first class of this session is mandatory, please contact Chelsea Cook if your child is unable to attend*
